The first movie scene review blog post:
-Jesus Museum Scene
This was probably one of the weirdest movies that I have ever watched. To be honest during this quarantine, I have been so bored so instead of skipping through it I sort of watched the whole thing , skipping only some parts. This film takes a sarcastic take on everything that human beings have done with they’re believes in higher powers and in religion during a persons life.
The scene that I chose to analyze is the scene where they made statues of Jesus in a factory. When Jesus sees this he gets furious and enraged. He walks through the factory in rage and starts to hit and attack the statues, making them loose ligaments and be damaged.
I think that the producer of this movie could have made this scene less dramatic with the noises that were being used. I also think that the editing and transitioning from scene to scene was unclear and jumped from place to place making it harder for the viewer to follow and grasp what is going on. I think that this movie presents a simple message told in a VERY complex way.
The central theme of the film is the corrupted nature of mankind and the happiness one can find in simple daily life. He makes his film to show mankind WORST traits, instead of highlighting the positives. This is just one of the many themes that are hidden in this film. I think that by the author portraying it like this sort of grabs the viewers attention in a way to keep them engaged and wanting more.
